Police are investigating after a 5-year-old child was injured by a flare gun in a southwest Wichita neighborhood.
Officers were called to the 3300 block of South Kessler, southeast of the intersection of 31st Street South and West Street, around 6 p.m. Thursday. They found that a flare gun had been accidentally fired. The injured child was taken to a hospital with critical injuries.
No other information has been released.
