A little over a month ago, MGK (the artist formerly known as Machine Gun Kelly), and Jelly Roll, released the song (and the corresponding video) “Lonely Road”.
I’m gonna be honest. I wanted to not like this song, I really did. I mean, you’re gonna sample John Denver, that’s kind of a big deal. With that said, I LOVE IT!! I don’t know which of my bosses I need to speak to about getting this played on KFDI, but it needs to be played. The way social media has reacted to this version or the original proves we need to be playing it.

He’s on Lower Broadway in Nashville doin’ his thing and when it comes time to sing the song for the crowd he brings up a special guest. Not Jelly Roll, he’s out busy touring. Instead, a good friend of Jelly’s (and label mate), Lainey Wilson and just watch how the crowd loses their minds and sings every word when it gets goin.’
