A Kansas AMBER Alert was issued Wednesday evening for a 5-year-old Wichita boy who was taken by his father during a domestic incident. The boy was later found safe and police took the father into custody.
Police said Trevawn Strong, Jr. was forcibly taken from his mother by his father, Trevawn Strong Sr., using a knife and firearm during a domestic incident at their home in the 2000 block of South Grove. Police said the mother was stabbed during the incident and the father had threatened to kill the child.
Police said the father left in a vehicle, but it was found later in the 1900 block of North Woodlawn.
About half an hour after the AMBER Alert was issued, police reported that Trevawn was found safe. His father was booked into jail for aggravated assault, aggravated battery, abuse of a child, and a number of other counts.
