Lane closures planned for K-96

235-project

Kansas Department of Transportation crews will be working on K-96 in Sedgwick County on Wednesday, and there will be some lane closures in both directions.

The project begins Wednesday, and it will involve K-96 from the city of Maize to I-235 in northwest Wichita.  Crews will be working on milling, patching and hot mixed asphalt overlay.   The work will occur Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.  It is estimated reconstruction will conclude in early November, weather conditions permitting.

During construction, sections of the highway will be reduced to one lane, and the speed limit will be reduced to 60 mph in the work zone.   Drivers are urged to use caution and watch for workers along that section of K-96.
