The Kansas Highway Patrol said a Newton woman was struck and killed while walking on Interstate 135 in Harvey County late Saturday night.
Troopers said the woman was walking north in the southbound lanes around 10:20 p.m. and she was hit by a southbound SUV. It happened near mile marker 31.2, just south of East 1st Street.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, and she was identified as 22-year-old Aubrie-Li Lakey. The driver and two passengers in the SUV were not injured.
