The Kansas Department of Transportation says the 77th Street bridge over Interstate 135 in northern Sedgwick County will be closed for maintenance and rehabilitation work, starting Monday, September 9th.
Workers will paint the steel and bearings, reset bearings, repair berm and replace joints. It is estimated reconstruction will conclude and this section of roadway will be reopened in November, depending on weather conditions.
For a detour, motorists driving north on I-135 should take Exit 17 onto East 85th Street and continue south on I-135. Drivers commuting south on I-135 should take Exit 14 onto East 61st Street and head north on I-135.
