A so-called Kansas City Chiefs “super fan” linked to a series of bank robberies will be in prison for close to 20 years.

30-year-old Xaviar Michael Babudar was sentenced to 17-and-a-half-years behind bars Thursday morning in federal court in Kansas City. Babudar is not eligible for parole and will also be subjected to three years of supervised release. He is also ordered to pay more than a half-million-dollars in restitution.

Prosecutors say Babudar’s trips to Chiefs games across the country were “bankrolled” by his nine armed robberies. The 30-year-old gained an online following under the name “Chiefs-a-holic.”

Babudar pleaded guilty to bank robberies in Iowa, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Minnesota, California and Nevada.

FBI Special Agent in Charge Stephen Cyrus of the Kansas City Field Office said in a press release, “The bank was not the only victim of these crimes.  Babudar terrorized bank employees throughout his multi-state crime spree, while relishing his celebrity status. ”
