Mulvane firefighters were called to the Kansas Star Casino late Thursday night with a report of of a fire in an office area.
Smoke was seen coming from an office around 10 p.m. and overhead sprinklers went off. The building was evacuated and crews found that the fire had started with a lithium battery that exploded inside a portable radio sitting on an office chair.
The sprinkler system put out the fire in the office, containing the fire to that area and there was water damage to offices in the building. No injuries were reported.
