I first mentioned this collaboration a couple weeks ago and my curiosity grew pretty quickly. I remember when Callista Clark first made a splash with her breakout single, “It’s Cause I Am”

Her talent and song writing back then shined, but as the pandemic slowed, she was lost in the shuffle.  Now she’s back with a new duet with Scotty McCreery. She’s teasing the new video and single which are officially released everywhere on September 12th.

Callista and Scotty first met in the UK a couple years ago while touring together. Callista knew she wanted Scotty to sing on this song with her. “Scotty was my first choice for a duet partner on ‘Gettin’ Old,’” Clark revealed. “I’ve always loved his voice and how he approaches his career. He absolutely nailed this song.”

As far as Scotty goes, he can’t stop gushing over how talented Callista is. “I first met Callista on a UK tour we did together a few years ago,” McCreery said at a recent media event. “She was opening the shows for us. I was just blown away by her songwriting and her stage presence, and her voice is just ridiculous. The runs she can do, I think I would fall over if I tried to do what she does with her voice. She’s so talented and has something she wants to share with the world. He went on to talk about “Gettin’ Old”. “So when she sent the song over, I fell in love with it, and was just honored that she wanted me to sing on it,” he added. “So I’m excited for folks to hear it. It’s a great song. She wrote one heck of a song, and I’m excited for people to hear it.”

For now, you can listen to the whole song in this official lyric video.

I can’t wait to start playing this on KFDI. A guaranteed hit, for sure.
