An unidentified man is in custody after a standoff at a home Monday evening in Greensburg.

Police said shots were fired inside a home in the 400 block of Main Street around 4:30 p.m.   Police officers and Kiowa County sheriff’s deputies arrived at the scene and evacuated surrounding residents.  The Kansas Highway Patrol and the Pratt County Sheriff’s Office also provided assistance.

Police negotiators were able to talk an 87-year-old man into giving up peacefully shortly after 7 p.m.   There were no injuries.
