UPDATE:  The Newton teenager who was killed in an Oklahoma crash has been identified as 17-year-old Osiel Guzman-Garza.   He was traveling to Texas with his family for a Labor Day weekend vacation when the crash occurred early Thursday.   His parents were hospitalized in critical condition.

The Newton school district has reported the death of a high school student in a crash in Oklahoma.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said the crash was reported around 6:20 Thursday morning on Interstate 35 in Payne County, east of Orlando.   A passenger car went out of control and crashed, and a 17-year-old Newton boy was killed.

The driver of the car, a 51-year-old Newton woman, was critically injured along with a 56-year-old Newton man who was a passenger.   They were taken to an Oklahoma City hospital.  Another passenger, a 13-year-old Newton boy, was taken to a Stillwater hospital where he was treated and released.

At the request of family members, Newton school officials did not identify the student who was killed.
