Students returned to classes Monday at Wichita State University to begin the fall semester.

Campus staff will be giving students free “Wuber” golf cart rides to and from class for most of the day Monday and Tuesday.   President Rick Muma and Provost Shirley Lefever will be driving the carts from 9 a.m. to 11 :30 a.m. on Tuesday.

Monday was the first time that most students were able to see the Shocker Success Center, which is the former Clinton Hall.   The building has had a complete renovation and it houses 18 offices providing services to students.  The offices were formerly spread throughout the campus.   The building includes a one-stop student services office, a tech help desk, adult learning services, a math lab, and the Office of International Education.

Monday was also the first day of the fall semester for Kansas State University, Emporia State University, Pittsburg State University and Fort Hays State University.  The University of Kansas will begin the fall semester on Monday, August 26th.
