A woman has been sentenced to seven years in prison for a fatal stabbing that happened behind a southeast Wichita business in 2021.
A judge sentenced 37-year-old Latoya McCurn to 84 months for a stabbing that happened on August 21st, 2021 in the 7800 block of East Harry. Police found 49-year-old Hung Nguyen dead from a stab wound. Detectives learned that Nguyen had been with McCurn earlier in the day and they had been involved in a dispute.
McCurn was originally charged with first degree murder, but she pleaded guilty in June to charges of voluntary manslaughter and criminal threat.
