A couple of years ago when I first interviewed Lainey Wilson, she talked about getting her start impersonating Miley Cyrus’ character, “Hannah Montana”. So, imagine how cool this recent experience was for Lainey when she got to honor one of her idols from her childhood – Miley Cyrus – who was just elevated to “Disney Legend” status.

Here is the interesting thing….Lainey is 1 year older than Miley….but more importantly, I have my fingers crossed for a Miley – Lainey collab, because their voices would be amazing together. Just sayin’!

About Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus, born Destiny Hope Cyrus on November 23, 1992, is a multifaceted artist who has evolved from a Disney Channel star into a global music icon, constantly reinventing herself to stay relevant to younger generations, especially Gen Z. Known for her boundary-pushing style and outspoken personality, Miley first captured hearts as the titular character on *Hannah Montana*, but she quickly outgrew the role, using her platform to explore her identity and challenge societal norms.

Miley’s music career has been a journey of transformation. From the pop anthems of her early years to the raw, rock-infused sounds of her latest albums, like *Plastic Hearts* (2020), she has consistently showcased her versatility as an artist. Miley resonates with her fans because she’s unafraid to be herself, whether she’s advocating for LGBTQ+ rights, speaking out on mental health issues, or embracing her sexuality. Miley’s unapologetic approach to life and art makes her a powerful role model for a generation that values authenticity and breaking down barriers.

Beyond music, Miley has also made a mark as a philanthropist, founding the Happy Hippie Foundation in 2014, which focuses on helping homeless youth, the LGBTQ+ community, and other vulnerable populations. Her activism and willingness to speak on difficult topics, such as her struggles with self-discovery and mental health, have endeared her to Gen Z, who admire her transparency and courage.

Miley Cyrus continues to be a voice of a generation, evolving her style and message to stay connected with fans who see her as more than just a celebrity—she’s an embodiment of self-expression, resilience, and the ongoing fight for individuality in a world that often tries to box people in.

About Lainey Wilson

Lainey Wilson, born on May 19, 1992, is quickly becoming one of country music’s brightest stars, resonating deeply with Gen Z for her authentic storytelling and down-to-earth persona. Growing up in the small town of Baskin, Louisiana, Lainey was raised on classic country music, drawing inspiration from legends like Dolly Parton and Lee Ann Womack. But her sound is anything but old-fashioned—Lainey brings a fresh, modern edge to country music that speaks to the heart of today’s younger generation.

With her breakthrough single “Things a Man Oughta Know,” Lainey captured the attention of country fans and beyond, thanks to its raw honesty and relatable themes. The song, which earned her a CMA Award for New Artist of the Year in 2021, showcases her ability to blend traditional country sounds with contemporary storytelling, making her music accessible and relevant to Gen Z listeners who crave authenticity and realness.

Lainey’s style is as distinctive as her voice—often seen rocking bell-bottom jeans and wide-brimmed hats, she exudes a vibe that’s both retro and cool, a reflection of her Southern roots mixed with modern flair. Her fashion sense, like her music, is an expression of who she is: bold, original, and unapologetically herself.

What makes Lainey  so relatable is the way she addresses themes of self-discovery, resilience, and empowerment in her music. She’s not just singing about love and heartache; she’s telling stories about life’s challenges and triumphs in a way that feels genuine and inspiring. For a generation that values authenticity and connection, Lainey Wilson is more than just a country artist—she’s a voice that speaks to their experiences and emotions.
