Kayren Spain describes herself as a “football fanatic” who’s always had an interest in quarterbacks, but the 81-year-old from Alabama has never been as obsessed as she’s become with Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes. Her mission has been to meet Mahomes before she “croaks”. She started making her own Mahomes themed clothing, posted it on the socials and that’s where Patrick’s Mom, Randi saw the video. The ball started rolling and earlier this month, more than a year after setting a goal to meet Mahomes, Spain got her chance. She got to meet Patrick, he signed the water color painting she made, and the two of them had a brief chat. Afterwards, Kayren once again posted on her socials with great joy saying, “Dreams really do come true.”. When you meet your idol and they take time to chat with you…THAT’S AWESOME.
