The Kansas Turnpike Authority said construction work will begin soon at toll plazas across the state as part of the recent conversion to cashless tolling.  Existing structures at the toll plazas will be demolished and lanes will be reconfigured.  The work is expected to take about 18 months at the 22 toll plaza interchanges.

Toll booths were decommissioned soon after the Kansas Turnpike converted to cashless tolling on July 1st. Since then, KTA crews have been removing toll booths and canopies in preparation for contractors to complete demolition and lane reconfiguration.

Contract work will begin at these toll plazas in August and is expected to be completed by the end of the year, weather permitting.
