Today, we go to 35,000 feet for the awesome. Last week on a flight to New York City, a technology consultant witnessed something mid-flight that they then posted to Reddit and it quickly went viral. The image was of a stranger holding the hand of a woman having a panic attack during turbulence.
As turbulence increased in the final few minutes of the flight, the woman began to visibly panic, with tears streaming down her face. The man seated next to her noticed her distress and reached out to hold her hand, reassuring her by saying, “We’re going to be fine.” The emotional support he provided had a calming effect, allowing her to keep it together for the remaining 10 or 15 minutes of the flight.
After landing, the woman expressed her deep gratitude to the stranger, who was calm and supportive throughout the ordeal. The Reddit user who captured the moment shared the photo to encourage others to act kindly should they find themselves in similar situations.
