A woman and child from Wichita were injured late Monday night in a one-vehicle crash on K-254.
The Kansas Highway Patrol said a minivan was going east on K-254 around 10 p.m. when the driver braked too hard and went out of control while trying to make a turn to go south on 143rd Street East. The van went off the road and into a ditch where it struck an embankment.
The 21-year-old driver was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. An unidentified child in the vehicle was reported to have critical injuries from the crash.
