Hutchinson police said a 36-year-old man was arrested after several chases on Monday.  The last chase ended with a crash and minor injuries to a local resident.

Police said a corrections department task force found the man around 3:20 Monday afternoon near 11th and Severance in Hutchinson.  He got into a vehicle and fled, but officers did not pursue him because of his history of fleeing from law enforcement.   The man was later seen walking near 12th and Milcon Street, and he was armed with a handgun.  Officers chased him on foot and then he got into a vehicle and sped away.   Police chased him and he ran a stop sign at 4th and Maple, hitting another vehicle.   He got out and fired a shot, but it’s not believed he was shooting at officers.   He was caught a short time later.

A citizen had minor injuries from the crash at 4th and Maple, but no officers were injured in the chase.

The man was booked into the Reno County jail on a number of charges, and he was being held without bond.
