A warning is out about eating sliced deli meats after at least two people have died in a listeria outbreak. One death was reported in New Jersey, the other in Illinois.

The CDC said at least 28 others across 12 states have gotten sick – and the only link so far seems to be sliced meats from deli counters.    Experts said whatever’s causing it could be even more widespread, but it’s too early to know – the first case dated back to late May. Symptoms range from fever, aches, and tiredness, to confusion, loss of balance, and even seizures.

The outbreak has been reported in states across the Midwest and in the East.
