1. Not long after taking the stage Saturday in Butler, Pennsylvania for a rally, former President Donald Trump was shot in the ear during an assassination attempt. Three other people were shot, including a local firefighter, husband and father of 2, Corey Camperatore, who died on the scene, using his body to shield his family. Donald Trump who is in Milwaukee for the Republican National Convention says he has rewritten his speech for Thursday night.

2. Elon Musk could be getting a very pricey slap on the wrist. The European Union charged social media company X with several breaches of the bloc’s 2022 Digital Services Act, including its broad use of blue checkmarks for user verification. The preliminary rulings, released Friday by the European Commission, could result in a fine of 6% of the company’s annual global revenue if confirmed.

3. Just a reminder if you’re going to the post office today, you’ll pay 5 cents more for each 1st class stamp. This is the 19th price hike of 1st class stamps since 2000. It is also tied for the highest, one time price hike.

4. Move over road rage, TIP RAGE is all the rage.  It seems more and more of you are fed up with being asked for a tip.  Granted, in this country it’s expected at sit down restaurants, but now even self serve kiosks are asking for tips and this leads to the consumer taking it out on the first person they see which is typically an employee.

5. and a woman is claiming she has snapped a pic of a baby sasquatch. The, of course, blurry images seem to show a young sasquatch near some feeding deer. Look, you know I’m a believer in the possibility of Bigfoot, but here’s the thing. 1. We can take pictures of the international space station flying in front of a full moon with our phones but you can’t snap a clear picture from a few yards away. and 2. If you’re gonna dress up the neighbors kid to look like little bigfoot, don’t make him look like Chaka from “Land of the Lost”.
