A Wichita man has been charged with second degree murder in a shooting that happened earlier this week at an east side apartment.
The charge was filed against 22-year-old Peter McKinney, and his bond was set at $500,000. His next court appearance was scheduled for July 15th. A 50-year-old man who was arrested with McKinney has not been charged at this time, and the District Attorney’s Office said more investigation will be needed.
McKinney is charged in the July 1st shooting death of 25-year-old Sebastian Crawford. Police said an argument led to the shooting in the 200 block of North Rock Road. This is Wichita’s 18th criminal homicide of 2024.
