Another round of severe thunderstorms moved through central and south central areas of Kansas early Thursday, bringing wind gusts up to 80 miles an hour and causing damage to trees and power lines.

A gust of 82 miles an hour was reported in Salina, with a 70 mile-an-hour gust reported in McPherson County.  Gusts of 60 miles an hour were reported in the Wichita area as the storms moved through around 2 a.m.

Several campers were overturned with severe storms that moved over the Wilson Lake area in Russell County late Wednesday night.  One person was killed and at least three others were injured.

The storms caused power outages and Evergy crews were working to restore electricity to scattered areas.  Around 500 customers were without power in the Wichita area as of 6 a.m. Thursday.
