Barber County Emergency Management said an oil spill sent crude oil flowing across a roadway and led to power outages late Monday.
Oil was shooting out of a well near K2 west of Kiowa. The highway from Northstar to 281 was shut down due to an oil well blowing out across the highway.
Power was out in Hardtner and outside Kiowa until the spill could be brought under control. Emergency Management officials said the spill caused nearby transformers to shut down.
