1. The Supreme Court has rejected Donald Trump’s sweeping claim of “absolute” immunity from criminal prosecution in his federal election subversion case, but said former presidents are entitled to some protections for “official” acts taken while in the White House. The case has been sent to a lower court to determine the definition of “official acts”.

2. Beryl is a monster, record breaking category 5 hurricane that tore through Grenada and now has its sights set on a direct hit on Jamaica with life threatening winds and storm sure. Currently Beryl’s sustained winds are 165mph, it’s the earliest cat 5 storm on record and only the 2nd in the Atlantic in July.

3. A bionic device developed at MIT allows people to control a leg prosthetic with their minds, according to a new study. The device can yield a more natural gait and reduce phantom limb pain, among other benefits.

4. A teen track star will make history at the Summer Olympics. 16-year-old Quincy Wilson has been selected to be a part of the U.S. men’s four-by-400 Olympic relay team in Paris. He will become the youngest American male track athlete to make the Olympics.

5. and in an effort to keep you “fashion forward”, the latest trend in footwear are Sock Shoes. Yep, shoes that look like socks are all the rage.  You can get a pair for as little as $20 or as much as $1100 for a designer pair. This has an upside, no longer do you have to question the order of sock shoe, sock shoe versus sock sock, shoe shoe. However, are we really calling them “sock shoes”.  How do you not call them “Shocks”….do I have to do everything around here.
