A Sedgwick County judge has sentenced a Wichita man to over 19 years in prison for a fatal crash that happened during a chase last year.

The sentence was handed down Monday for 24-year-old Harry Rediker, who pleaded guilty in May to a second degree murder charge.

Prosecutors said Rediker was involved in a chase with Sedgwick County deputies in the early morning hours of January 28th, 2023 when his car hit a power pole at Hoover Road and Taft.  A passenger in his car, 38-year-old Lindsey Garmon, died later at a hospital.

Rediker was also sentenced to 22 months for an attempted assault on a deputy at the Sedgwick County Detention Facility in March.   The sentence will be served consecutively with the second degree murder sentence, meaning that he will serve over 22 years in prison.   Rediker was also ordered to pay over $10,000 in restitution to Evergy for the damaged power pole.
