The fire at a recycling facility near Park City has been declared to be under control.
The fire at Evergreen Recycle at 302 West 53rd Street North began Sunday evening and was officially under control as of Wednesday afternoon. Sedgwick County Fire District Number One reported that some burn piles were still smoldering, but there is no active fire or flames. To ensure it stays this way, 13 firefighters and officials remained on scene using heavy equipment to compact the fire debris and saturate it with water.
A cause of the fire has not been identified at this time. There were no injuries and no damage was reported to any structures.
