1. Well, if you like Presidential debates, than today is your Christmas Day.  The much anticipated first debate matchup between Donald Trump and President Joe Biden is tonight at 8 on CNN. The 90-minute debate will have two commercial breaks, and the rules agreed to by both candidates mean there will be no live audience in the room for the debate, and each candidate’s microphone will be muted when it’s not their turn to speak.

2. READY! SET! FIREWORKS! The fireworks tents open today and like Starbucks it seems like there is one, sometimes two tents on every corner.  In preparation for the pyrotechnics, Sedgwick County is opening the non-emergency fireworks complaint line. Beginning Sunday, June 30, residents can call (316) 290-1011 to report nuisances like fireworks, parties and excessive noise. The phone line is staffed from 6 p.m. until 3 a.m. through Saturday, July 6.

3. It’s like a scene out of Star Wars where an image of Princess Leia is being projected by R2D2, but better. A Texas Hospital Reportedly First In US To Use a device called a “Holobox”.  The 3D system projects a life-sized hologram of a doctor to perform real-time consults with patients.

4. Amazon is getting ready to launch a new section on its site to compete with low-priced sellers like Temu and Shein. The storefront is planned to feature a range of unbranded items, with many of them costing less than $20.

5. and friends Larry and Jimmy were on a fishing trip when one night, Larry saw three “squatches” on the riverbank.  His immediate conclusion was that his friend Jimmy had summoned them there to kill and eat him.  So in self defense, Larry killed Jimmy.  As you can imagine, that argument didn’t hold up in court and now Larry is spending the rest of his life behind bars.  The upside is that at least in prison, Bigfoot won’t be able to get him.
