Today we honor Vietnam Veterans Robert Pryor and Richard Gerry. In June of 1969 Robert had been seriously wounded with severe head and arm injuries. Believing death was coming for him, he was taking satisfaction in the gunship reinforcements coming to he location, lighting up the jungle with 3,000 to 9,000 rounds per minute. He laid there waiting to die, but he didn’t, somehow he was rescued. Years later he wanted to find the person who rescued him. In an incredible story of reconnecting with the help of a website called TogetherWeServed.com, he found that person – Air Force Veteran Richard Gerry. Since reconnecting, the two have become good friends and Robert was finally able to say “thank you ” to the man who saved his life.
