A 45-year-old woman is facing charges after a seven-hour standoff in Winfield.
There was a report of a gunshot fired at a Winfield home around 12:45 a.m. Monday in the 700 block of East 13th Avenue. Three people reported that they were threatened by a woman who said she would shoot them if they didn’t leave her home. They left when they heard a gunshot. The woman refused to leave and a SWAT team was called in. The team went into the home around 7:20 a.m. and took the woman into custody. She was booked into jail on charges of criminal threat, criminal discharge of a firearm, and other counts.
There was a report from a witness of a dog that was shot, but police said no animals were harmed in the incident.
