A dedication ceremony will be held Wednesday for the dedication of Air Capital Boulevard, which will be a second name for George Washington Boulevard.
The Wichita City Council recently approved the overnaming of George Washington Boulevard to pay tribute to the city’s rich aviation history and its ongoing contributions to the industry.
The ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. in front of the Aviation Museum. Wichita Mayor Lily Wu and City Council Member Mike Hoheisel will attend along with Sedgwick County Commission Chairman Ryan Baty and the McConnell Air Force Base Commander, Colonel Cory Damon.
The event is free and open to the public.
