Severe thunderstorms developed Sunday afternoon in western and northern areas of Kansas, with tornadoes confirmed in Lincoln, Ellsworth and Russell counties.   There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

Storms brought wind gusts of 60 to 90 miles an hour to south central Kansas.  Power lines were down across the Wichita area with Evergy reporting over 41,000 customers without power in their entire service area.   At least 5,000 customers were without power in the Wichita area.  There were reports of tree damage in the Newton area.  Roof damage was reported in Haven as the storms moved through Reno and Kingman counties.

A tornado warning was issued for Harvey County when radar indicated rotation in a storm near Halstead.  There was no confirmation of a tornado, and the National Weather Service canceled the warning.

A wind gust of 100 miles an hour was reported in Salina.   Russell officials reported 80 mile-an-hour wind gusts and golf ball sized hail was reported.
