A second set of human remains has been found in Sumner County, and the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office is now involved in the investigation.
The latest discovery is in the 300 block of North River Road in Belle Plaine, near the location where the remains of an unidentified man were found last Friday.
Sedgwick County officials said the remains are believed to be related to a homicide investigation. The two victims of the homicide were last seen on January 1st in the 9500 block of South Hydraulic.
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is working with Sumner County officials on the investigation, and the remains were taken to the Sedgwick County Forensic Science Center for examination. An autopsy on the first victim found signs of foul play.
