The City of Wichita has unveiled new artwork on the Amidon Bridge, which connects 13th and 21st streets in northwest Wichita.
The bridge underwent reconstruction in 2023 and it now has light pillars that were designed by local artist and teacher Dan Gegen. The pillars feature dragonfly cutouts and swirls that echo the water flowing underneath the bridge.
Gegen has been involved in other public art projects in Wichita. He attended an unveiling ceremony Wednesday evening.
