A sinkhole opened early Monday on a south Wichita street, uprooting a tree and damaging at least two vehicles.
The sinkhole was reported near Market and Morris, in a neighborhood northwest of the intersection of Lincoln and Broadway. One vehicle parked on the street was submerged halfway in the sinkhole and a large tree toppled over into the street.
Crews have been on the scene to clear the area, and the street has been closed. No injuries have been reported. The sinkhole is believed to be caused by a water main break that happened around 3 a.m.
