1. While we are living in the central time zone, Arizona is still living in 1864. Republicans in that state have upheld the civil war era 1864 abortion ban, while democrats still fight for it’s repeal.
2. The National Basketball Association yesterday banned Toronto Raptors forward Jontay Porter for life for violating the league’s betting rules. This is the league’s first gambling scandal since referee Tim Donaghy’s felony charges in 2007.
3. There is, what is being called a ‘Silent Epidemic’ and it has everything to do with lack of sleep. Many of us struggle to get the recommended 7-8 hours of sleep each night. This is resulting in what is called non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, that if left untreated could lead to a risk of liver cirrhosis and liver cancer.
4. Patrick Mahomes is now a Titan. Don’t worry he hasn’t been traded to Tennessee, he just made Time’s list of ‘100 Most Influential People of 2024’. With groupings like Leaders, Innovators and Icons, Patrick was placed in the Titans category.
5. And remember the name Marianne Smyth, because her story is a Netflix documentary just waiting to be made. The 54-year-old grifter and con-artist claimed to be a psychic and Irish Heiress as she scammed people in this country out of over $170K. She’s been arrested in Maine facing possible extradition to the U.K. to face charges. If she really were a psychic, she would have seen her arrest coming.
