A Wichita woman was hospitalized after a chase with law enforcement ended with a crash Wednesday in Chase County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol said a pickup was being chased by officers shortly after noon on U.S. Highway 50 west of Strong City.  The eastbound pickup went into the westbound exit ramp to Kansas Highway 177 and lost control trying to turn south.  The truck went off the road and rolled several times before coming to rest on its wheels in the east ditch.

The driver of the pickup, a 20-year-old Wichita man, was taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.  A passenger, identified as 29-year-old Tiffany Ortiz, was taken to a Wichita hospital with serious injuries.

There’s no word on charges that may be filed in connection with the chase and the crash.
