1. Arizona’s Supreme Court has ruled that an 1864 near-total abortion ban is enforceable, superseding 15-week abortion ban passed in 2022. Republicans in the state, like Matt Gress spoke out against the ruling saying “This decision cannot stand, I categorically reject rolling back the clock to a time when slavery was still legal and we could lock up women and doctors because of an abortion.”
2. Dozens of Wichita East students flexed their 1st amendment rights yesterday and walked out of class in protest. They made sure their voices were heard as they spoke out against certain anti-trans legislation that bans minors from receiving gender affirming care. That piece of legislation is Senate Bill 233, and has already received approval from the Kansas House and Senate and is now waiting on the governor’s desk.

4. Here comes another first class stamp rate increase. The U.S. Postal Service signaled plans Tuesday for a rate increase that includes hiking the cost of a first-class stamp from 68 cents to 73 cents, part of an overall 7.8% increase to take effect July 14th

Mattel is launching a new version of the game which is designed to be more collaborative and accessible for those who find word games intimidating. The new double-sided Scrabble board will still feature the original game for those who want to play the traditional version. But the new game on the flip side will include helper cards, use a simpler scoring system and be quicker to play. The new board, Scrabble Together, will also allow people to compete in teams.
