Today, we honor Veteran Dennis Johnson. When Dennis joined the army at 18, he was incredibly proud to be serving his country. His Dad was a Vietnam Veteran, so serving seemed always part of the plan. His motto was, “I am where I’m supposed to be”. Sadly, 2 years into his service, his time was cut short and he and the Army parted ways. No longer filled with purposed, Dennis spiraled into a dark place because the shame was almost too much to bear. Years later, Dennis has found a greater purpose and a different way to serve. The kind of “bad papers” discharge due to his conduct is similar to those received by a lot of homeless Veterans. The homeless Veterans Dennis is now helping find a path to better situations through his community outreach program. Thank you Dennis for helping other Veterans and THANK YOU for your service.
