Kansas Senator Jerry Moran and Texas Senator Ted Cruz will host a meeting on Capitol Hill Tuesday to talk about the future of college athletics.

The Senate Commerce Committee will have a roundtable discussion with college officials and athletes to talk about recent concerns over Name, Image, Likeness programs that allow athletes to receive financial compensation.   Senator Moran has introduced legislation that would set national standards for NIL programs, establish a Medical Trust Fund to provide care to injured athletes, prioritize athletes’ educational outcomes and safeguard athletes’ health and wellness.

The discussion will include former Alabama head football coach Nick Saban, University of Alabama Athletic Director Greg Byrne, Atlantic Coast Conference Commissioner Jim Phillips, TCU student-athlete Haley Cavinder, and NIL attorney Darren Heitner.

The discussion begins at 10 a.m. Eastern Time in the Dirksen Senate Office Building.
