Today, we honor World War II Army Combat Medic Veteran Ray Lee.  In 1943 Ray volunteered for the Army. He served with the 97th Infantry Division, 322nd Medical Battalion Company C as a combat medic. He was sent overseas to Europe for 5 months and Japan for 8 months before he was honorably discharged. Ray was one of 20,000 Chinese Americans to serve in the U.S. Armed Forces during World War II. For years Ray has volunteered at the Veterans Memorial Museum in Fresno, California as the museum’s curator. Yesterday, on his 100th birthday, the city of Fresno presented Lee with a proclamation establishing March 6th, 2024 as Ray Lee Day. Happy Birthday Ray, thank you for keeping history alive and THANK YOU for your service.
