A Wichita fire battalion chief was seriously injured Friday evening when his fire department vehicle was involved in a crash in the downtown area.
Police said the crash happened around 10 p.m. at St. Francis and Murdock. A battalion vehicle and an SUV were involved in the crash at the intersection.
The battalion chief was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, but he was released Saturday morning and he is resting at home. No other information was released on the crash.
