Biden, hoping to pass his bipartisan border agreement, seemed to be opening up to a truce, addressing Trump directly saying let’s fix this together. Trump seemed to want nothing to do with the idea of compromise.
2. Wildfires near and far are raging. The Smokehouse Creek Fire became the largest wildfire in Texas state history yesterday, with flames rapidly spreading across the state’s panhandle and into Oklahoma. Roughly 1,700 square miles of primarily rural prairie and brush have been burned, with the blaze at 3% containment. Meanwhile, crews were battling grass fires Thursday in central and north central areas of Kansas.
