The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Kansas said charges have been filed in a fatal shooting that happened at the Fort Riley Army base in Junction City.
30-year-old Margaret Shafe of Fort Riley was charged with second degree murder for a shooting incident at the base on Monday. The shooting resulted in the death of Greg Shafe.
Margaret Shafe made an appearance in federal court in Topeka. If convicted, she faces up to life in prison.
Prosecutors have not revealed details of the shooting. Greg Shafe was found shot at his home.
