Police in Kansas City, Missouri are announcing charges in the Super Bowl parade shooting.
Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker said two adults in the shooting have been charged with second degree murder. They were identified as 18-year-old Dominic Miller of Kansas City and 23-year-old Lyndell Mays of Raytown, Missouri.
Court documents said Mays got into a dispute with four men outside Union Station after the rally celebrating the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory. A witness said Mays approached the group and pulled out a gun. Mays fired his gun and Miller shot back.
Police identified who fired the bullet that killed the one deceased victim, Lisa Lopez-Galvan, but both men face the same charges. Both have bonds of one-million-dollars. Peters Baker said both men remain hospitalized with injuries they received in the incident.
Twenty-two people were injured in the shooting. In addition, two teens face gun-related charges.
