An on-duty 911 employee for Sedgwick County was arrested Friday and booked into jail for suspicion of official misconduct and interference with law enforcement.
In a press release, Sedgwick County reported the arrest and said the employee had been employed since July, 2022. The employee is on suspension pending an administrative investigation and determination of criminal prosecution.
Valley Center police are investigating and they will present information to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office for review. No details were released on the misconduct case.
In the press release, Emergency Communications Director Elora Forshee said “This type of employee conduct is not in adherence with the values of Emergency Communications and is contradictory to expectations of services we provide our community and field responders. We will cooperate fully with law enforcement.”
