One more day till the weekend…..let’s run down the 5 things you need to know

1. Attorney General Merrick Garland notified Congress that the special counsel had concluded his investigation into President Joe Biden and his handling of classified documents and no charges will be filed.

2. Blocked by Republicans, the Senate failed to advance the $118B bill combining border security provisions and supplemental foreign aid yesterday in a 49-50 vote, ending a monthslong effort by a small bipartisan group of senators to forge a compromise package. Sixty votes were needed to move the package forward.

3. The NFL and NBA are just 2 of the 12 sports leagues teaming up with the White House to promote health, fitness and wellness for kids

4. Not just some, but all cars.  That’s the language in the new bill being proposed in Kansas that would require you to move over or at least slow down for all vehicles with their hazard lights on in the breakdown lanes on the side of the road.  A spokesperson for AAA, one of the sponsors of the bill, calls it a matter of life or death.

5. And football’s youngest fans will be able to watch Super Bowl LVIII announced by SpongeBob SquarePants and the rest of the gang from Bikini Bottom. Nickelodeon and CBS Sports announced the first-ever alternate telecast for the Super Bowl, which will air on the kid’s television channel on Sunday, February 11, when the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers kick off in Las Vegas. Paramount Global is the parent company of both CBS Sports and Nickelodeon. The telecast combines animation and graphics with a traditional game-day telecast.  I think we can all agree this will be SOOOOOO much better than listening to Tony Romo or Chris Collinsworth during a game

and THAT’S TRENDING.
