Today, JJ’s Star Spangled Salute honors Hoxie, KS native Nick Hague who is heading back to the International Space Station but this time as the first Space Force Guardian. The launch is planned for August. He will be the pilot of NASA’s SpaceX Crew-9 mission, once docked he’ll be a flight engineer. He’s joining the mission as the first Space Force Guardian. Space Force was established in 2019 as the sixth branch of the U.S. Military. According to the USSF website, spaceforce.com, “Guardians defend our country and freedom to operate in space, keeping it secure and accessible for military space power and new waves of innovation.”
