The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office said Monday that a supervisor was arrested by Maize police for misdemeanor traffic violations, including driving under the influence.
The supervisor, Lieutenant Richard Gerdsen, was driving his personal car and he was off duty when the arrest happened Sunday.
The Sheriff’s Office said Gerdsen has been relieved of duty pending an internal investigation. He has been with the Sheriff’s Office for 17 years.
