The City of Wichita has announced a new director for the Old Cowtown Museum.
James Quint has more than 17 years of museum experience, and he has served most recently as the Executive Director for the Glenn H. Curtiss Museum in Hammondsport, New York. He holds a master’s degree in Museum Studies from Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis and a bachelor’s degree in Historic Preservation from Southeast Missouri State University.
As director of Cowtown, Quint will be responsible for planning, budgeting, directing and marketing the development and operation of the facilities. The Museum is an accredited living history museum dedicated to preserving and presenting the history of Wichita, Kansas, from 1865-1880 through immersive and educational experiences. The Museum has a collection of over 25,000 historical artifacts, 45 buildings that span 23 acres, and has approximately 57,000 visitors per year.
Quint will begin work March 4th.
